    Project Overview

    The “Smallholder Farmers and Youth Entrepreneurship Program in Agriculture and Livestock Development” is a 30-month initiative jointly supported financially and technically by Punarbas Municipality (Kanchanpur), Heifer Project Nepal, and a local implementing partner NEEDS Nepal.
    The primary focus of this project is on agriculture and livestock-based livelihoods, with a vision to enhance entrepreneurship and ensure sustainability among smallholder farmers and youth in the community. The project is being implemented across all 11 wards of Punarbas Municipality, forming 80 small farmers’ groups and directly reaching out to 2,000 smallholder farmers.

    Project Objectives

    • Promote sustainability in social capital, financial access, market linkages, environmental conservation, entrepreneurship, and food system transformation.
    • Strengthen individual and community resilience through capacity building, infrastructure support, and behavioural change.

    Key Expected Outcomes

    The project is expected to improve the livelihoods and economic resilience of 2,000 marginalized and disadvantaged households by strengthening social capital, enhancing agro-livestock productivity, promoting entrepreneurship, and increasing financial inclusion.
