    Rural Health System Strengthening

    Project Overview:

    The Enhancing Safe Labour Migration Project in Doti aims to empower potential migrants and returnees by promoting safe migration practices, supporting reintegration, and fostering alternative livelihoods. The project works through capacitating local social structures to lead awareness-raising initiatives, disseminate information via mass media and IEC materials, and engage communities through events on key issues such as safe migration, anti-human trafficking (AHT), gender-based violence (GBV), and WASH.

    The initiative also supports beneficiaries through vocational training, business start-up assistance, legal aid, and psychosocial counselling. Local structures are strengthened to collaborate with government and stakeholders for sustainable migration governance. The project further contributes to organizational development by reviewing strategies and promoting learning on migrant rights and diaspora issues at provincial and national levels. It directly benefits 23,800 individuals and indirectly reaches over 78,000.

    Project Objectives

    • (Potential) migrants and returnees are empowered to adopt safe migration practices, identify re-integration perspectives and develop alternative livelihood options.
    • Social structures are capacitated to develop and implement action plans and modules for awareness-raising and information sharing on safe migration and anti-human trafficking.
    • In reference to awareness action plans, mass media campaigns and IEC materials (hoarding boards, booklets, pamphlets etc.) are developed and disseminated for public awareness-raising of potential migrants.
    • Local stakeholder and community members participate in national / international days celebration and are informed on SM, AHT, GBV and WASH situation in the municipality.
    • Social structures are activated to effectively work with the local government and stakeholders to promote safe migration and livelihood improvement.
    • Beneficiaries participated in trainings in various vocational and technical livelihood areas.
    • Beneficiaries received livelihood start-up support after business counselling
    • Beneficiaries have received emergency/legal support
    • Beneficiaries have received psycho-social counsellings
    • Organizational strategy reviewed /endorsed with setting up objectives for migrant’s rights, diaspora welfares and India migration issues/project learnings are developed on provincial / national forum or platform
