    Enhancing Internal Control-Border Migrant Workers Access to Social Security and Social Protection (Pahuch) Project

    Rural Health System Strengthening

    Project Overview:

    NEEDS Nepal, with technical and financial support from People’s Courage International (PCI), has implemented the Pahuch Project in selected wards of Godawari Municipality – Ward no – 1, 2, 3 and 4 and Dhangadi Sub metro-Politan City – Ward no – 1,2,3,4,5 and 19 respectively. The project aims to enhance access to social security and protection schemes for internal and cross-border migrant workers and their families. It also focuses on strengthening their resilience to cope with social, economic, and climate-related shocks. Through strategic interventions, the project has facilitated direct support, awareness-raising, and policy engagement to ensure migrant workers can exercise their rights and access essential services.

     

    Project Objectives:

    • Internal and cross-border migrant workers and their families will be able to access comprehensive social security and protection schemes.
    • Internal migrant workers and their families will attain access to social security and social protection, ensuring the realization of their rights and entitlements.
    • Strengthening initiatives within the government system will be implemented to proactively address the concerns and issues of internal migrant workers and cross-border migrant workers at the local and provincial government levels.

     

    Key Expected Outcomes:

    Internal and Cross-border Migrant Workers, Their Families Are Enjoying the Social Security and Social Protection Schemes and have Increased Resilience to Cope with Their Social, Economic, and Climate Shocks
