    Empowerment of Women Entrepreneurs through Sustainable Income (EWESI)

    Rural Health System Strengthening

    Project Overview:

    The EWESI project aims to empower marginalized and vulnerable women in Kanchanpur District by enhancing their social and economic well-being through sustainable income generation activities. The project provides targeted support to women from historically oppressed communities, including freed bonded laborers, single women, families of migrants, and those with disabilities, to develop entrepreneurial skills, improve financial literacy, and access markets and resources for economic independence.

     

    Project Objectives:

    • Entrepreneurial Ecosystem strengthened through partnership and market linkages.
    • Increased business/income opportunities for target women through enhanced entrepreneurial skills and market linkages.
    • Increased access to finance and livelihood opportunities through strengthened women-led cooperatives and cooperative run/own enterprise.
    • Increase the capacity of women to promote gender equality and social justice.
    • Enhanced capacities of the communities to adopt Climate Action and Environmentally Sustainable initiatives for local development

     

    Key Expected Outcomes:

    • Improved income opportunities and livelihood of women through the promotion of sustainable and gainful enterprises.
    • Strengthened capacity of women to promote gender equality and climate action.
